TO OUR FAITHFUL SUPPORTERS

Last June, Cryco, one of our oldest wolves, escaped from the compound and was never found.  Idaho Fish & Game is investigating this happening, forcing me to hire an attorney to defend myself.  Since this is going to be an ongoing case for, possibly, months, I am asking for your help.  Any money  that you could donate to Wolf People at this time would go towards legal fees, which are adding up quickly.  I thank you in advance for any financial help that you could provide.  Please call me if you have any questions.

WOLF PEOPLE / NIWA TO MAKE TRAILER FOR POSSIBLE "REALITY SHOW"

On Thursday, February 9, the staff at Wolf People and members of the Northern Idaho Wolf Alliance (NIWA) organization collaborated together with a promotional company to put together the filming of several different activities performed by these 2 entities on a regular basis.  Activities included the introduction of a young wolf to her new lifetime companion, going into the 5 acre enclosure with several young wolves to be filmed while others were taking pictures for private and educational purposes, showing the feeding process for the wolves, a protest against the wolf hunting/trapping season, and ending with the NIWA monthly meeting.  It really became a full day.  We are hoping that this short story will raise enough curiosity and interest to be picked up by a national program so that a full length reality show will come from it.  This was a chance for all of us to express our concerns and desires for the wolves in the wild and make a plea to the entire world to join us in our fight to stop the inhumane wolf hunt and replace it with an intelligent, moral way to manage our wolves.  We will let you know how it all turns out so stay tuned!

Important Notice to Wolf People supporters everywhere!
Unfortunately, it has become necessary to reveal some of the ugliness that comes with the territory when an organization or business is involved with advocating for the long persecuted and very controversial Wolf.  On the opposite side of the fence from Wolf Educators and Supporters are “Anti-Wolf Groups” whose apparent wish is to see every last wolf gone.  Wolf Education centers like ours hinder their plans.
Anti-wolf forces have begun to circulate rumors and fabrications about Wolf People, such as that we have wolf hybrids, not wolves, and that Wolf People has been releasing wolves into the wild on purpose.  (see link #1 below)   If you have ever visited Wolf People, I am sure you went away secure in the fact that we care about our wolves very much.  The thought of placing our much loved wolves out into the wild, ill equipped to make it on their own due to being raised in captivity, and with a high risk of being shot, is unthinkable!
One anti-wolf group has publicly proclaimed their goal to shut Wolf People down. (see link #2 below)  And “It's trapping season after all” (*laughter heard) was another.  An attorney has been secured to deal with any potential threats made to Wolf People or our wolves. Donations for attorney fees will be accepted with extreme gratitude.
Wolf People would like to remain here for years to come to continue educating the public about wolves and allowing our ambassador wolves to provide cherished  moments for hundreds of people each year.

Thank you in advance for your support !

Wolf People In The News!

We had the honor of being chosen to be on a news show about the wolves and the topics that surround them. A camera crew from Australian news channel ABC NEWS came to Wolf People and spent two days filming our beautiful wolves. Stars of the show were TIKAANI, MOHAWK and our little COCO. Throughout the show you can hear our wolves howling for the viewers and of course MOHAWK stole the spotlight and performed a close up howl for the crew. We filmed down in our 5 acre play pen where the wolves could run around and be themselves while We (Nancy, Mike, Cody and the camera crew) could watch them play and have fun. On multiple occasions TIKAANI  attempted to steal the camera tripod and anything else he could see but the camera man who has filmed war time in Iraq didn't seem to mind too much. Below is a link to their Website where you can view the entire show. We will do our best to make sure the link is up and working. If you have any problems finding the site, feel free to email us on our contact page. Thank you and enjoy the show :)
